Todd Cothran is the pastor of CrossLife Community Church (formerly Alliance Bible Church). He and his family moved to Charlottesville in July 2012 and are excited about what God has in store for them and for CrossLife.
Todd and Renee have been married since 1994 and have four wonderful children: David, Jonathan, Maggie, and Mollie. Todd and his family have a passion to see the gospel of Jesus Christ transform people’s lives—unbelievers coming to Christ and believers growing in their love and devotion to Him. Out of this transformation flows a natural desire to love, serve, and share the life-giving good news to an unbelieving world.
Todd was born and raised in the Greenville-Spartanburg area of South Carolina. After receiving an undergraduate degree in journalism from the University of South Carolina Upstate, he was planning for a career in film; however, God had other plans. He was hired in 1996 by Summit Ministries in Manitou Springs, Colorado, where he served as director of the ministry's Christian leadership program for college-bound students. He later directed Summit's curriculum department, which produced worldview and apologetic curricula. He left Summit in 2008 to take a position at Front Range Alliance Church in Colorado Springs, where he served as church administrator and associate pastor.
Todd holds an M.A. in Christian apologetics from Biola University and has accomplished work toward an M.Div. at New Covenant School of Theology.
