Definition of Basileia:
- Royal power, kingship, dominion, rule—not to be confused with an actual kingdom but, rather, the right or authority to rule over a kingdom
- Of the royal power of Jesus as the triumphant Messiah
- Of the royal power and dignity conferred on Christians in the Messiah's kingdom
It is from this third definition that we derive the name of our men's fellowship, the Basileian Brotherhood. As followers of Jesus, we have been given power and authority to be His ambassadors. Unfortunately, the majority of Christian men have abdicated this responsibility, opting instead to be assimilated into the world. Most choose to pursue the temporal pleasures and ease of life this world offers versus the high and demanding call of the resurrected Lord of the universe.
We are committed at CrossLife to helping men pursue this high calling of becoming devoted disciples of Jesus who love their families, love the church, and love their community well.
We currently have two groups, each meeting every other week. One group meets at the Everyday Cafe in Pantops, and the other meets at Panera Bread at Hollymead. We recently worked through Pat Morley's book Man in the Mirror.
Schedule: Check out the calendar for meeting times and places.
